Horizon Pulp and Paper Ltd. is supporting the participation of 20 employees of Aegviidu School and Kindergarten in the NGO Vaikuseminutid (‘Minutes of Silence’) program “School and Kindergarten That Creates Well-being”.
The program provides systematic support to educational institutions to reduce stress for teachers and students and teaches through practical skills how to prevent mental exhaustion and conflict. Tiina Silem, Anija Municipalty’s deputy mayor, said that the Vaikuseminutid training program has been highly praised in Estonia. Thanks to participation in it, some of the teachers who have just started their work, who previously thought about leaving school, have been inspired and decided to stay at work.
“The program motivates and supports teachers, and the main thing is that teachers are better able to support children after that. We really wanted this training for our teachers and we are glad Horizon agreed to fund,” she said.
The training program will start in October 2024 and run until autumn 2026. In addition to traditional training days, the program includes supervision, counselling, practical work and much more. Training for 20 employees costs almost 9000 euros.
